S hould Christians speak in tongues? What are tongues? "Tongues" Is the King James version, way of saying "Language" "Other tongues" Is the King James way of saying "Other language" "Unknown tongues" Is unknown language.

Is speaking in tongues the only evidence of a Holy Spirit fills life? Does Satanic spirits also speak in tongues?

To avoid some people from go on the defensive, I must say that I believe in the ability to speak in tongues and I have spoken in tongues. However, I believe that tongues is a gift from the Holy Spirit and not all believers having the gift. And, I can prove it. And you will know the truth h, if you dare to read this article to the end.

Many ministers and Christians are only believers, they do not think, they do not do research for themselves, but only fallow popular teaching. Not only that, but if you came up with any other teaching that the church do not teach they immediately dub you contrary, they demonize you. Call you wolf and one that came in to draw away disciples.

Tongues can be classified in two groups, one it is a ministry. The other one is a prayer language. All believers should pray to get both. However, this is not really the evidence that a person is filled with the Holy Spirit; because demons possess people also speak in tongues.

GOD DO NOT NEED TO DO THE SAME THING EVERY TIME THE SAME WAY.

Just for argument sake, which man on earth made love to his wife the same old way every time? I think I got your attention. Some of the time when a person got fill with the spirit they speak their original language and the people who stand by bear witness, because you know that the person was not like that before. There is no need to go off speaking Greek if there is no one there speak nor understand Greek. God does not need to prove any thing to us. However, if your church teaches other wise do not challenge them, because this thing can continue for ages until the church split and split again and we will never came to any agreement. We spent all the time fighting over one gift of the Spirit just like the Sabbath keepers spent the time fighting over one commandment while ignoring the other nine. In fact the other five hundred and twelve.

HERE WE GO:

Joel 2:28-AV And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

THE EVIDENCE OF BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit turns the person into another man. Full of love and full of power.

1 Samuel 10:5-7 (KJV) After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:

1 Sam 10:6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. [7] And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

Five Spiritual Blessings of Saul:

1. The Spirit of God came upon him (1 Samuel 10:6,10-13; 1 Samuel 11:6)

2. He prophesied (1 Samuel 10:6,10-13)

3. He was turned to another man (1 Samuel 10:6)

4. God was with him (1 Samuel 10:7)

5. God gave him another heart (1 Samuel 10:9)

Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

In this verse the Bible, reveal some signs. First “Power” Then the evidence of this power is public propagation of the gospel.

2 Tim. 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Tim 1.7 gives us some more clues. “Power” Then it speaks of “Love” then “A sound mind”

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephes. 5:9 (KJV) (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Acts 1:8 a [ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth] The 2nd New Testament prophecy in Acts (Acts 1:8, fulfilled Acts 2:1-39 and to be completely fulfilled in the tribulation and Millennium. Next, § Acts 1:11.

Four things the gift of 2 Tim. 1:6 consists of:

1. Spirit of boldness (Romans 8:15)

2. Spirit of power (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 16:10; 1 Tim. 4:14)

3. Spirit of love (1 Cor. 13:4)

4. Spirit of a sound mind, understanding, and judgment (Galatians 5:22-23)

[power] Greek: dunamis), inherent power; power to reproduce itself, implying need of constant activity and use for continued reproduction. From this word we get our English dynamo and dynamics-the branch of mechanics dealing with the principles of motion or active operation. Just as a dynamo needs to be in motion to produce power, so one needs to stir up into flame the gift of God in his life (2 Tim. 1:6; 1 Tim. 4:14).

[love] Greek: agape , §1 Cor. 13:4.

[sound mind] See 1 Tim. 2:9; 1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 2:4,6,12.

Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

THE COMMAND TO GO INTO EVERY COUNTRY WAS FINALLY GIVEN BY OUR LORD:

Matthew 28:19-AV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:20-AV Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

ONE PROBLEM, THE DISCIPLES ONLY SPEAK GALILAEANS:

Acts 2:7-AV And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Mark 16:16-AV He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:17-AV And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:18-AV They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

CLOVEN TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE:

Acts 2:1-AV And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts 2:2-AV And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:3-AV And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. Acts 2:4-AV And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:5-AV And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Acts 2:6-AV Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. Acts 2:7-AV And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

THE REASONS FOR THE GIFT OF TONGUES:

God do not do any thing without a reason. For the disciples to take the gospel into these country and to every people, the lord will have to give the disciples the ability to speak these languages, miraculously. And that is exactly what our lord did on the day of Pentecost. It is either you are going to spent the time to learn the language, or you are going to be given the language by God miraculously, but you are not going to go into every country to preach the gospel and you do not know how to speak the language of the people.

WHAT HAPPEN WHEN A PERSON IS FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

The person will begin to glorified God verbally and openly. But this is where the churches made their mistakes. In the person mind, the person will be speaking in English or whatsoever languages they was their original languages. But the people who standing by listening will hear the person in the language that they speak.

This happen in Africa to one particular missionary. She employed an interpreter, to speak through each week, one week the interpreter did not turn up. She lead out the service in songs, and waited, the man did not show up, she begin to speak to the people, on the people faces she could see that they were responding to her, so she continue speaking. Finally the man show up and ask her. How did you say you did not speak the language? From that time un, every service she just keep speaking in English, but the people were hearing it in their languages.

If ten different groups of people are there who speak different languages, they all will hear you in their language.

Acts 2:8-AV And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Acts 2:9-AV Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Acts 2:10-AV Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Acts 2:11-AV Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. Acts 2:12-AV And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

These were know language, or other tongues, or known tongues.

THE PEOPLE ASK "WHAT MEANETH THIS?"

Acts 2:14-AV But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: Acts 2:15-AV For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day. Acts 2:16-AV But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; Acts 2:17-AV And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Acts 2:18-AV And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

TONGUES IS A GIFT, AND A SIGN:

1Corinthians 12:4-AV Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1Corinthians 12:5-AV And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 1Corinthians 12:6-AV And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 1Corinthians 12:7-AV But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1Corinthians 12:8-AV For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 1Corinthians 12:9-AV To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1Corinthians 14:22-AV Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying [serveth] not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

EVERY SAINTS DO NOT HAVE EVERY GIFTS:

All the gifts are operating in the Church, but not every Christians, have every gifts. This does not mean that one person cannot have all the gift. I do not think I have the gifts of physical healing. But there are time when the lord uses me to heal somebody. pastors were told to do the work of an Evangelist. At the same time he is not an evangelist, but a pastor.

1Corinthians 12:9-AV To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 1Corinthians 12:10-AV To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 1Corinthians 12:11-AV But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 1Corinthians 12:28-AV And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

WHAT DO THEY SAY WHEN THEY SEE THIS VERSE?

1Corinthians 12:29-AV [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? 1Corinthians 12:30-AV Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

1Corinthians 14:5-AV I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

1Corinthians 14:6-AV Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

1Corinthians 14:13-AV Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret. 1Corinthians 14:14-AV For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

1Corinthians 14:18-AV I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 1Corinthians 14:19-AV Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that [by my voice] I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an [unknown] tongue. 1Corinthians 14:20-AV Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

SOME TONGUES TALKING IS JUST PIGS EATING, FULL OF TONGUES BUT NO LOVE:

1Corinthians 14:23-AV If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in [those that are] unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

1 Cor. 14:40 (KJV)Let all things be done decently and in order.

1Corinthians 14:27-AV If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret. 1Corinthians 14:28-AV But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

IF YOU HAVE THIS GIFT USE IT, IT IS YOUR PRAYER LANGUAGE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT, ASK THE LORD TO FOR IT:

1Corinthians 14:39-AV Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

When you and I pray in our earthly language, Satan know what we are praying about and know how to intercept it. When we went off in tongues we left him in confusion.

IF YOU DID NOT GET THE GIFT, PRAY AND GROAN.

Romans 8:26-AV Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.

The holy spirit will decode it, so Satan do not know what you are praying about.

Lamentations 3:39-AV Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

When we complain, we give Satan an accurate account of where we are and how effective his bombing campaign against us are.

THE EVIDENCE OF A HOLY SPIRIT FILLED LIFE:

1Corinthians 12:30-AV Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

(2) BY THE ( POWER ) OF WITNESSING, YOU WILL KNOW:

John 13:35-AV By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1John 4:20-AV If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Matthew 7:22-AV Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Matthew 7:23-AV And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
