D uring World War Two a pilot was shot down over enemy territory, he starved to death, Months later another pilot was shot down over the same jungle, and he survived. He hid out by day and travel by night and he ate well. What was the secret to this man survival? He had done survival training. He learned how to make a fire without matches. He learned how to collect water from leafs and rocks. People suffer in many ways because they were unprepared for what was to come, and for what they are getting into. If you are planning to migrate, you cannot do it blindly, even though you know the place previously.
Many Jamaicans living overseas, longing to return to their homeland. The primary reasons is the racism that they face on a daily basic. Jamaicans never really get use to the racism, since there is no racism in Jamaica.
A political problem is what we got, every four years when voting time comes around. A few killing here and there. The regular crimes are mostly petty crimes, and hold up men.
JAMAICANS LOVE TO HELP EACH OTHER.
Jamaican has a way of helping each other’s. We work hard, and many of us still find time to go to school. Jamaicans are not like this only because they live in foreign countries, even in Jamaica, that is the way it is. Whenever, the opportunity presents itself.
We fought each other sometime, but if you have any need, you can turn to almost any Jamaicans, even if we were one time enemies and ask for help, and get it if it is available.
YOU CAN LIVE SWEET IN JAMAICA.
The problem in Jamaica is the same problem every where. However, to survive in Jamaica take special knowledge. These people are so smart you cannot help but wonder what they eat that makes them so smart. To live there, you must learn the rope, before you return. Do not think that Satan is dead, and acting like there are no snakes in paradise. The Jamaica you left behind some twenty years ago is not the same one. A new generations has risen up, even the regular words are change in some way. Many of the younger ones do not want to work, but they want to drive big cars and live in big houses.
SETTING UP A BUSINESS IN JAMAICA
If a person is wise, they can live well in Jamaica. However, if the person is foolish and show off, he she is dead duck. It is never safe to set your business up in the same town where your house is. You do not want the people in your immediate neighborhood, to know that you are the one own such and such a business. You do not want criminals to have you target. Business people became prime target. People must only think you work there as service men or an employee of such. We will talk more on this.
TOURISTS SELDOM GET INTO TROUBLE
It is important to know that this article is not talking about tourists, it is talking about Jamaicans returning to reside. So do not get scared and taking things out of context.
TOURISTS are not going into uncharted neighborhood, like returning residents. If you are not a TOURIST, it is best to wire your money to your bank, a head of you, if you are going to make long over the road night trip, coming from the airport. Most of the hold ups take place on the airport road. The government needs to set up another airport in Mandeville, so people coming that side need not travel to Kingston.
IT IS NOT ALL FINE AND DANDY
There is a new breed of Jamaican, different from the one we left home when we were migrating from the island years ago. These wanting to get rich quick. These do not want to work at all. At the same time, they want to live like Americans. These do not wear use clothing. When sending clothing to family in Jamaica, I have to give them the new clothing and use the Used ones for my self. These are very ungrateful, and are bearing a grudge. You did not do more for them when you were over seas.
But how did they get like this? Criminals that have been deported from the United States went home and teaches them these new stuff.
BEWARE OF DISGRUNTLE FAMILY
Nieces, nephews, brother, and sisters are the main one killing their return family member. If you have some kind of family who were always wanting stuff and never had enough nor showing any progress for all that help they got from you,
You had better be careful how you return. Returns only if conditions are right, if family members are friendly. On returning you do not want to get caught in the crossfire of political dog fights and you do not want to be looking down the barrel of gun, in the hand of a disgruntle family member.
One of my brothers was missing for some fifteen years, I had to support his children, and he was in prison and did not want the family to know. By the time he returns, his children now had children. Within three weeks of getting back from prison, he been arguing with my mother for money to buy boat. My bass is a fisherman and I get his wife to be checking into the prices for boat. Then a message came to me warning me not to return to the island, because the brother has been planning stuff.
If you are planning to go into a lion den, at least do some planning. Do not make disgruntle family members know when you are coming to the island, just show up. Do not let them know when you are leave, just be missing. You need to have good people pick you up at the airport.
If you are planning to do business when you return. Have your business set up in a way that even the money is not your responsibility to take to the bank. Have others take that risk. People must not even know what business you are into if possible.
WHEN IN DOUBT FOR YOUR SAFITY, SEEK OTHER COUNTRY FOR RETIREMENTS.
Brazil, Ghana, and many independent democratic African countries. With a small amount of British pounds and American Dollars in you retirement, back up with your social security, you could be living like a king in any of these countries. You will need to begin to research the exchange rate, years in advance, and then visited these countries.
When people get old and reach retirement, it is not time go settled in country where you have enemies that trashed your life, only because they think you were privilege to travel abroad and did not share your hard earn wealth equally among them.
PREYING ON RETURNING RESIDENTS
Regardless of what you hear, these prey on returning residents. No matter how much you give, it is as if you give nothing. It is not only greed you have to deal with now but also greed with a grudge.
IF INVESTORS ARE NOT COMING THEN THE FUTURE LOOK VERY BAD FOR US.
Returning residents must be able to return with their knowledge, to invest and train the young. If people keep murdering, robbing, and raping them, they will retire in other country. Jamaicans are now retiring in place like Kenya, Australia, and other country, because they scared to return to their homeland.
TAKING STRANGE TAXI
It is not wise to take strange taxi especial going to and coming from the airport. Taking any strange taxi is dangerous. Have reputable people to pick you up at the airport. If you are planning to return to reside, buy your own car as soon as possible.
THEY KNOW YOU TRAVELED ABROAD
Jamaicans can look at a person and know if you were living in England America, Canada or where. Then they start to call you foreigner. However, as the months roles by you begin to sound like them, and look like them, then only few can tell that you were a one-time migrant.
BUYING LAND AND MAKING A HOME
Jamaicans do not like a show off, and when you return many will expect you to show off, and some will see you as a show off, especially if you do not have the time to hang out with them like years ago before you leave the island.
When I went home to do a crusade or preach for a day or two, most of the people only listening to hear if I am going to twang, or trying to speak like American! They miss the whole message by listening for that twang.
NEVER BUY LAND IN YOUR ORIGINAL TOWN
It is not a smart thing to buy land in your original parish right Away, even if you buy it, it is not wise to physically live there Right them. Wait until you get back in the swing of things. The reason why it is not too good to built home in your original immediate Neighborhood, is due to the fact that, that the envious, cousin or Friend that you know years ago is even worst now. That nephew that think you did not do enough to help them, is even more bitter now.
It is the family and friends that has done most of the killings of the returning residents.
WHERE TO BUY HOME
If you have the money, a gated community is the best. But you will need to buy in Places where you can modify the house to your likings. The house you planned to retire in you should buy that house in a gated community. These are now springing up all over Jamaica. No body can turn up at your home without being buzzed in.
SECURITY OF THE HOME
Your bedroom needs to be upstairs. If criminal broken in, in the night, they will have to come up to you, and this give you the advantage. If a Jamaican criminal cannot surprise you, they do not bother with you. Some broken in the home, while the occupants were away and wait. This is why dogs are important. If you went out you must leave one or two of your dogs inside the house. If you do not hear your indoor dog on returning, do not go into the house. call you next neighbor and call the police.
THE BEST SECURITY IS HAVING EYES AMONG THE CRIMINALS
The only way you can have eyes among the criminal, is to make friend, with another criminal. If you have an habit of Helping, and I do not mean handing out money. But caring, people try to protect you the best they can. It is not as bad as how it sound in my writing, but my writing stress you being vigilant, that you do not try to tell yourself that things are completely ok. Just like here in the United States. I came across lone women; dress up in tight shorts running in lonely places, telling themselves that no more rapists is living in the world. Pretty and stupid, And asking for it, begging to be rape, sometime I think they want to get rape so they can write a book and get TV exposure.
Like I said before, you can live sweet in Jamaica. If you have your own house, your own car and some ways of making money. Never isolate yourself from the bad people as well as the good. You will need good church people as friend, and you will need vagabond friends as well. In fact any where you go in the world. Thefts and prostitutes. There are several group of theft in each community and each group knows the other. There are several groups of prostitutes in each community and each group knows the others. They know what group did the killing or the raping. Is not every group having a killer, and not every group have a rapist. If you are in contact with somebody from any of these groups, you can easily know what going on in the other entire group, because each group of criminal tries to know what the others are doing. Even if you have a security guard, you need a theft to watch the other theft for you.
BE AN ASSET TO THE NEEDY
Some food for people in need or clothing can be very helpful to you both. Stop and talking to people, do not act as if you are better than any one, trying to teach people little things etc. You could do well. The community I came from, I was the only one that seem to have a Medicine chest home, all the children with cuts always finds their way to my home.
HAVE A PLAN HOW TO HELP
Do not just return and live for yourself alone. A man alone is a dead man in Jamaica. You must have a plan how to help women and children, at least in your immediate community. Do not act like you are scared of the people are scared of any one in particular, even though you might be shaking on the inside, you do not need to show it. Always invites people home for dinner, not only the rich but also those who are rejected. If you are planning to invites people home, do not make your house a treasure house, which mean “valuables” is everywhere. Things that make covetous people want to return when you are not at home.
Be aware of what is going on, be aware of your surrounding, be aware that “pickpockets” are watching you. “Pickpockets” A bread of thief that steal from your pocket, when you are distracted. Do not walk about with loads of money on you or a wallet so heavy that people can see it hanging out of your pockets. Know when you are being fallowed. If everywhere you go you keep seeing the same set of boys, chances that they could be following you are going the same place that you are going.
Things are not as bad as how this writing may sound, and it could be worst, I am just trying to make you aware and to help somewhat.
CHANGE YOUR MONEY WITH THE BANKS
Do not try to get rich off the exchange markets. Always change your money with the banks. There are people in the community who are giving much more than what the banks are giving, but the trick is this. Now they know how much money you have on you.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Do not take strange taxi, built your house with the bedroom quarters Upstairs, be a friend of the people. Get active with some Church. stay out of politic. This does not mean that you must not vote, just do not jump on the political van wagons.
DO NOT LET EVERY BODY IN YOUR HOUSE, NOR SET IT UP LIKE JEWELRY STORE
When you look through your windows and see neighbor coming to see you with children tagging along with them, if you do not know the people are careful. Sometime even if you know them it could be a Problem. Some bad broken children keep running all over the house, and the parents keep running after them, but this is just a trick to see the place. One child we cannot find him, finally, we found him under our bed.
Keep your upstairs bedroom lock. If you have the money to spare, it is best to make an outside toilet, next to your garage. You do not want to denied work men if they came to work with you, but you do not want every body running into your home.
DO NOT BE A TALK ABOUT PERSON
If you found out that, you are going to be a talk about person especially in the negative, among women, it is best to keep a low Profile. If you learn, any bad habit while you were living overseas, bad habit such as child molestation and homosexuality. Remember that you are not living overseas now. You do not want to be caught molesting a child in Jamaica. Woman beating does not go well there either. If you are homosexuals, keep a low profile. Only approach people with that life style.

SOMETIME ONLY JESUS CAN HELP US:
Matthew 6:33-AV But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Isaiah 55:6-AV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:7-AV Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
LOOK AT THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A CHRISTIAN:
How does a person become a Christian, and are sure that he/she is save? First the person must know that he/she is a sinner and need deliverance from the lord.
Romans 3:23 (KJV) for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Galatians 3:22 (KJV) But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
THE SINNER MUST BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A GOD:
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
THE SINNER MUST BELIEVE THAT GOD IS READY TO FORGIVE HIM:
Isaiah 55:7 (KJV)Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
THE SINNER MUST BELIEVE THAT CHRIST DIED FOR HIM:

Romans 5:8 (KJV)But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

PERFECTING THE SAINTS IS A WORK OF GOD:

THE SINNER MUST KNOW THAT ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE THEM:

THE SINNER MUST MAKE A DECISION TODAY:

2 Cor. 6:2 (KJV) (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
BOW YOUR HEAD AND PRAY THIS PRAYER:
Lord I am a sinner and need your salvation. Forgive all my sins. I accept your son Jesus as my savior today.

The cleansing stream I see I see I plunge, and O It cleans-eth me. O praise the Lord, it cleans-eth me, it cleans-eth me yes, cleans-eth me."
DROP ALL PRE-CONCEIVE IDEAS OF CHRISTIANITY:
Drop all preconceived ideas of Christianity because these conflict with the reality of Christianity. The lord will live the life through you day by day. You do not drop things from your life on your own. The spirit of God will walk you out of sins in his own time.
FIRST HUMBLING YOU:
Ephes. 2:8-9 (KJV)For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
If you stop sins and get holy before God’s timing you will begin to boast how it is your own magnetism got you so far, then you became a source of discouragement to others. Therefore, you are going to stuck upon a sin or two. The sin always getting the better of you. This will push you to always accept God’s grace, and to see your own frailness.
1 John 1:8 (KJV) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
TO CONTINUE GROWING IN GOD:
1 Peter 2:2 (KJV) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2 Peter 1:5-10 (NKJV) But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.
FINDING OUT YOUR CALLING:
When I was newly save, the believers always, ask me if I know the will of God for my life! I never really know what they were talking about. Every person that was saved had a mission and a gift. However, because you are just a babe in Christ you do not know any of these. As you go on with the lord his will for you will unfolds day bay day. Do not run off and make any big commitment. Your mate has to be tailor made for you by God. You are now a citizen of heaven. Heaven does not rule by democracy. You cannot serve God with democratic mind set.
WHAT YOU MUST DROP OFF:
Hebrews 12:1 (Living Bible) Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.
Ephes. 4:31 (Living Bible) Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives.
Col. 3:8 (Living Bible) but now is the time to cast off and throw away all these rotten garments of anger, hatred, cursing, and dirty language.
GET A GOOD BIBLE, AND FIND A GOOD CHURCH:
One of the best Bibles out there is the New King James Version. Dake’s annotated Bible is very good. Next, you need a living bible to make some thing simple.
Hebrews 10:25 (Living Bible) Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.
PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM BEING SPOILED BY MAN:
Col. 2:8 (KJV)Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Hebrews 13:9 (KJV) Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Seven Ways that People Can Spoil Christians:
1. Through philosophy (Col. 2:8)
2. Through vain deceit (Col. 2:4,8,18-19)
3. Through human traditions (Col. 2:8)
4. Through human religion and world principles contrary to the gospel (Col. 2:8,14-23; note, §Galatians 4:3)
5. Through circumcision (Col. 2:11-13; Acts 15:1; Romans 4:9-16; Galatians 5:1-11)
6. Through the law of Moses, demanding observance of the laws on meats, drinks, holy days, new moons, feasts, and sabbaths (Col. 2:14-17)
7. Through cults that puff up and imitate the gospel (Col. 2:18-23)
By all these means, unsuspecting souls are being carried off as plunder and booty by false teachers. The founders of false religions and human philosophies which pamper the flesh and give their victims elated feelings of importance make an appeal to them.
Christianity is loaded down with some false concept. Some little believe system, which are spread by false believers. One of such teaching is that you must “Look like Christians” How does Christians look? Genuine Christianity is not an external thing but of the heart and spirit.
Micah 6:8 (KJV)He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
When cults capture a newly converted Christians, the cult first job on that new believer is to close their mind. Preventing the new believer from reading any material from other churches. So that new believer will never get out of their trap.
YOUR HORMONE DOES NOT STOP WORKING WITH CHRISTIANITY:
Philip. 3:20-21 (KJV)For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Romans 8:23 (KJV) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Our bodies were not save at conversion. The work of redemption took place in your spirit man. Our body will be redeemed at the return of our lord. We are still waiting for the redemption of our body.
According to Philip 3:20-21 and Romans 8:23. You are still going to have urges. You have to present your body to the lord as a living sacrifice. Not dead one. Living sacrifice give trouble, you will have trouble keeping that body tied to the altar. However, as you and I grow in the lord what seem impossible will be quite possible.
