Why People Are Leaving The Churches

By Dr. J. A McBean.Th., MCC
P salm 142:4 (KJV) I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
People do not have a problem with God, or the Bible. They are having problems with the people who pretend to be representing God. People come to church because they need fellowship, worship and doctrines. Some comes to take part in spiritual work. Some comes because they are ties up, and they want to be loose. When they came their need are not being met. They run into some road blocks of prejudice deacons, and scared pastors. One pastor told me that the reason why they do not entertained other pastors hanging around, is because they came in to split the church. Yes, it is true in some cases. However, if you keep driving away every person that has pastoral background, how are you going to get qualified help to build the ministries? All you are going to have is a church full of women, along with a few disabled children. I was a member of a church for one year before the pastor found out that I was an ordained minister. If the pastors know, they had ways to make you leave. Then you find the same spirit in all sectors of the church. The worship leaders do not want you in if you have music background. The pastor’s wife does not want outstanding women in there. These are some of the things why people are losing interest in churches. Another reasons every Sunday some pastors make the people listen to
Malachi 3:8-10 (KJV) Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Malachi 3: 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
Malachi 3: 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Some people take offence to this. They do not mind reading it, but not every Sunday. Tithes and offering must be discussed in membership and baptismal class. Before a church admitted new member, the pastor must hold a membership meeting and explain these things. Then give the members the time to grow into these things.
3 John 1:9 (KJV) I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 3 John 1:10 (KJV) Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
Who this man was is unknown. Regarding character he is known as being proud, ambitious, exclusive, malicious, inhospitable, despotic, and rebellious against apostolic authority (3 John 1:9-10
This is the only threat in John's writings, except in Revelation. He had apostolic power and threatened to use it to bring judgment on this rebel, as Paul threatened the Corinthians (1 Cor. 4:16-21

Isaiah 55:6-AV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:7-AV Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
