How To Hurt People With Kindness

By Dr. James. A McBean D.Th., MCC
T he Bible told us that there are people who hate good people. 2 Tim. 3:3 (KJV)--, despisers of those that are good,” However, goodness, kindness and love are like cold of fire on such people heads. Nothing hurt people like when they cannot replace the person they envied. They do not like you but cannot deny the fact that you are helpful, truthful and kind. They do not want to see you, but cannot deny the fact that you do not come around any way. They do not want to hear any thing from you, but they cannot deny the fact that you are not sucking up to them in the first place. They do not want you around but cannot replace you. You the good person must learn to use kindness, because kindness is not weakness, but it is a weaponed. This is what I want to teach you in this article.
The “Kindness” Must Be Genuine.
Growing up in Jamaica West Indies, I was the youngest business man in my community. By age twenty-eight, I was operating my own small garment industries, where I manufactured garments and sold to stores. People my age and older did not like me for that. To make matters worse, I was also married at age twenty-four and have children. In my community, grandfathers were still living in common-law marriage. Some of my employees would walk of the job, when the Christmas holiday was near. This was the time that I needed them the most.
I reacted to this by; finding out what the other employers were paying for the same job. I payed my employees twice that much. When they walked of my job, and expect to get more from other employers, they could not. Now they want to return to me but cannot. Every time they collected their pay checks from other employers and saw that it is only half of what they would have gotten from me, it hurts them all over again.
At age twenty-one I was shepherding my first church. By age twenty-eight I just abandoned my second church. The people from the second Church said. “No other clergy did them badly as I did” However, the none Christian people in the community did not endorse that comment. What truly happens was this! Those who did not have jobs I find jobs for them. Those who have no food were invited to eat at least one meal per day at my house. These who had no clothing, got clothing from my place. Also! I teach some of them trade. They take my kindness for weakness, so when I leave them I also shut down the privileges. The greatest part of the game plan was this. No other pastor that came on the seen could match up to the kindness that I displayed there. No matter how many pastors they throw out they could not find one to match up to my good works, and that was what hurting them.
On coming to the United States I learn many skills. One of such skills is “Building Maintenance and Building Construction” When my friends ask me to do a job for them. I told them to pay what they can afford. “You already know what the other guys were charging” After the work was done they laugh and pay nothing. Now! Look at the trick. When that house needs repairs again, they cannot call me, they have to go to the other work men. When the thousand dollars’ bills hit them, and they remember that I would not charge for the same job. It really hurts them because they cannot come back to me. In fact, some of them bite their pride, hide their shame and came back. But, the answer was, “No”
A Snare To Themselves.
Sometime Only Jesus Can Help Us
Romans 5:6 (KJV) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:7 (KJV) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. Romans 5:8 (KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:9 (KJV) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:11 (KJV) And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Matthew 6:33-AV But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Isaiah 55:6-AV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:7-AV Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
