T
he same year I was converted to Christianity. I was the member of a certain church. I had a habit of going to the church from Saturday, and locked my self in, and spent the time in fasting, and praying until Monday morning. On a communion Sunday, when the believers went home. I would be left in the church doing my fasting and praying. I fell asleep at the altar. When I wake up, still lying down on my side. I saw like blood under the benches. I went to look what it was. It was the grape juice that we used for Holy Communion or lord supper, that same day. The people only act as if they drank the cup of juice, but they did not. They throw every thing under the benches that we were sitting on.
What bothered me, none of the prophets among us knows what was happening. Yet they prophesy in every services, sometime even in the communion services. Husband and wife were living in the same home, but are sleeping in different beds. Husbands were defrauding wives, and wives defrauding husbands, and yet none of our so-call prophets knows about the things that were happening. Why is it that none of them know about it?
WHY NONE OF THE PROPHETS IN THE
CHURCH KNOW OF THIS AND
SPOKE ABOUT IT?
They were not hearing from God. They prophesy out of their own hearts. Visit any charismatic churches, and listen carefully. People will get up while the preacher are giving his sermon and prophesies in un-knowing tongues=Unknown languages. Others will get up, and give an interpretation to the prophesies that just went forth in un-knowing tongues. As if God, do not know how to speak English. People are there un-employed, no message came for them. Homeless people on the street. No message came for them. Husband and wife in the same church, not sleeping together for three months, no prophesies came for them. Members loose their jobs and their house is about to go into fore-closure, no prophecy came for them. I have seen prophecy came for people who were living the worst life style contrary to church doctrines. Moreover, people who were living so-call clean life never get a word in prophecy.
Why Did The People Dump The Holy Communion!
1 Cor. 11:26-27 (KJV) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Cor. 11:30 (KJV) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
The people never understand this verse. In addition, when the pastor finish flashing his whip it scared the people into not taking the communion. Moreover, any person with a burden of conscience would feel scared and try not to partake.
However, the interpretation of that verse is wrong. “Eat and drink unworthily” Is not talking about ever day sins of the flesh. Paul was warning the believers who eat at the idol temples and come to church to eat at the Lord’s Table. Believers are not to take Holy Communion because they are perfect, but because we are sinners. “In fact if we do not take Holy Communion we have “no life in us.” It is by taking the Holy Communion that we get the life to live the life.
Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
John 6:53 (NKJV)
Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day
John 6:54 (NKJV)
Because the people want the lies.
Jer 5:31 (NKJV) The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?
Isaiah 30:10 (Living Bible) They tell my prophets, "Shut up--we don't want any more of your reports!" Or they say, "Don't tell us the truth; tell us nice things; tell us lies.
CHEAP PREDICTIONS.
There are prophets in all ages. Nevertheless, before I explain I want to show you how false prophets work.
Just suppose John is running for public office. He would pay the false prophets to tell the people that he is going to win. People always want to be on the winning side. So they votes for John and John wins. The false prophets are now exalted and more people believe in them.
IS THERE ANY MODERN DAY PROPHETS?
God predicted and promised that He Himself would pour out His Spirit upon men and women and they would prophesy. To prophesy means to "speak to men to edification, exhortation, and comfort" (1 Cor. 14:3). "He that prophesieth edifieth the church" (1 Cor. 14:4). Prophesying is for the church and general public (1 Cor. 12:1-31; 1 Cor. 14:1-6,12,24-26,29-33).
NEW TESTAMENT PROPHESYING IS
REALLY PREACHING AND NOT PREDICTIONS.
Discernment is the closest New Testament prophets came, in comparison to the Old Testament prophets.
In Acts 21:8-9 it is clear that Philip's four daughters were prophetesses, that is, they were evangelists like their father. This is in perfect accord with Joel 2:28-29 which was fulfilled in the early church (Acts 2:16), and with Acts 2:17-18 which will be fulfilled in the last days.
In Romans 16, we have record of a number of women servants of the Lord in various churches. Phebe (Romans 16:1-2), Priscilla (Romans 16:3-5), Mary, Tryphena, Tryphosa, Persis, and Julia (Romans 16:6-15) are mentioned as laborers in the Lord.
. In Phil. 4:2 Euodias and Syntyche are mentioned as being leaders of the church at Philippi.
. Corinthian women prophesied and prayed in church (1 Cor. 11:4-5), so the scripture in 1 Cor. 14:34-35 that is used to condemn women preachers does not refer to preaching but to disturbance in church services—asking or talking out to their husbands in church, as stated in 1 Cor. 14:35. Even so with 1 Tim. 2:11-15, Paul is not condemning women preachers as long as they keep their place and do not "usurp authority over the man." Both men and women at Corinth were permitted to pray and prophesy, but were reulated by fixed laws in doing so (1 Cor. 14:24-32).
THERE ARE TWO KINNDS OF PROPHETS.
Old Testament prophets fore-tell (or predict)
while New Testament prophets forth-tell
Forth-tell is to tell things that are currently happening, but no one know of it, similar to discernment.)
Old Testament prophets made predictions. New Testament prophets expound on those predictions.
For example, a man and his wife will be arguing in the church’s parking lot out of sight of everyone, then later hold hands and come into the church service giving the false impression that things are ok. The Church’s prophet should be able to know about it. Another example is when my brother in law’s employer gave him a quarterly test and told him if he passes the test, he will give him a raise of pay. He passed the test and the man refused to give him the raise of pay. In my vision, I saw my brother-in-law getting ready to go in and give the man a piece of his mind. His boss was simply waiting to fire him when he does that. I called my brother in law on the phone and explained what was about to happen. His reply was “Lord God! it is my boss, this morning I am planning to go in and tell him a piece of my mind” On one of my job they were planning to fire me. I know eight months in advance. I ran off to school and do a course. I got a job eleven o clock and by twelve o clock the same day, the old job called me and told me I was fired. I beat them by eight months, one day and one hour.
There were actually few New Testament prophets in the book of acts who foretold. However, those people who are making predictions todays are not prophets.
Acts 21:9 (KJV) And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
TRUE PROPETS ARE KNOWN.
1 Samuel 3:20 (KJV) And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.
NEW TASTAMENT PROPHETS WILL NOT
GO CONTRARY TO THE WRITTEN WORDS.
1 Cor. 14:37 (KJV) If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
PROPHETS WERE ORDAINED
BEFORE THEY WERE BORN.
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
To hear God’s voice in a verbal sense, in your physical ears. God has to be talking to you from you were in the womb.
To hear God’s voice in a verbal sense, in your physical ears. He have to be talking to you from you were in the womb.
SINFUL MAN CANNOT HERE GOD’S VERBAL VOICE.
Ex 20:19 (NKJV) Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die."
GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH OUR HUMAN SPIRIT.
Job 32:8 (KJV) But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
The spirit of man being truly inspired by the Almighty is reason enough for anyone to speak. In such instances, one does not need to be great, aged, or reputedly wise. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit is enough (Job 32:8-9; Acts 3:21; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
Our human spirit is like a replica of the Holy Spirit
Zech. 12:1 (KJV) The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
Proverbs 20:27 (KJV) The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
THE PROPHET OWN SPIRITS.
Prov 25:28 (NKJV)Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.
Ezek 13:3 (NKJV) Thus says the Lord God: "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!
1 Cor. 14:32 (KJV) And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Among people who have inspirational experiences of prophecy, tongues, and interpretation of tongues, it is very easy for one to claim that the Holy Spirit is moving upon him and that he should not quench the Spirit (1 Thes. 5:19). This attitude of being determined to obey the Spirit leads to abuse of such gifts many times, causing much confusion in the church. Let no man claim to be moved by the Holy Spirit who acts disorderly and causes confusion, for God is not the author of such (1 Cor. 14:32-33).
2 Tim. 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
NONE OF GOD’S SERVANTS WELCOME THE CALLING
TO BE A PROPHET.
These men were already servants of God, but did not want to serve as prophets. Prophet always dead bad and dead poor. Prophets speak for God to man. While priests speak for man to God.
People do not like Genuine prophets. A person thinks prophets know every things that they done, and know what they are up to. However, prophets only know what the Spirit of God reveals to them.
Jeremiah 1:5-6 (KJV) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. [6] Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
MOSES DID NOT WANT THE PROPHETIC OFFICE.
Exodus 4:10 (KJV)
And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
Exodus 4:11 (KJV)
And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?
Exodus 4:12-13 (KJV)
Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. [13] And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
Exodus 4:14 (KJV)
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
Acts 7:22 (KJV) And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
ISAIAH DID NOT WELCOME THE JOB AT FIRST.
Isaiah 6:5 (KJV)
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
Isaiah 6:8-9 (KJV)
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
[9] And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
JONAH FLEES BY SHIP FROM THE CALLING.
Jonah 1:1-3 (KJV) Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, [2] Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. [3] But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
KING SAUL WENT AND HIDE HIMSELF FROM THE CALLING.
1 Samuel 10:22 (KJV) Therefore they enquired of the Lord further, if the man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff.
